Description
One missing word in a 1631 King James Bible changed a commandment and sparked a scandal. That story is almost funny until it becomes a mirror, because we can make a much bigger mistake than a printing typo: we can misunderstand Jesus Christ Himself. We take you into Matthew 21 and 22, where Jesus speaks directly to the Sanhedrin and exposes the danger of rejecting the Son while trying to keep the benefits of God’s vineyard.
We unpack the parable of the tenants, drawing the line from Isaiah 5 to Israel as God’s vineyard and to the prophets who were beaten, stoned, and killed. Then Jesus quotes Psalm 118, reminding everyone that the stone the builders rejected becomes the cornerstone. That cornerstone is either the foundation you trust, or the stone of judgment you trip over. We also talk through what it means when Jesus warns that the kingdom will be taken from an unbelieving generation and given to those who will produce fruit.
Then the wedding feast parable lands with force: invited guests shrug off the king’s summons, others turn violent, and judgment falls. Yet the invitation still goes out to anyone along the road, until the hall is full. The twist is the “dress code” no one expects, wedding garments provided by the king, a clear picture of salvation as God’s gift rather than our self-made “good works” clothing. We also connect the burned city to the coming destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 and to the Bible’s promise of future restoration under Christ’s returning kingdom.
If you want a clear, Scripture-rooted look at judgment, grace, and how to respond to Jesus, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review. What do you think the parables reveal about how people reject God today?
We're taking the truth of God's Word to the nations - and you can help make it possible.
