According to legend, from 1817 to 1821 the Bell Family living in Adams, Tennessee came under attack by an invisible entity that was able to speak, affect the physical environment, and shapeshift. This account would become one of the earliest and best documented paranormal cases in America.

Some first hand accounts record the spirit was also a clairvoyant and capable of crossing long distances with superhuman speed and/or being in more than one place at a time. This spirit seemed to have two main goals for attacking the Bell Family. One, breaking off the marriage of the daughter of the family ‘Betsy Bell’ and Two, killing the patriarch of the family John Bell Sr. 

At the end of this 4 year span The Bell Witch would have accomplished both of these goals…
