Ben Emlyn-Jones Report 2026

Published 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Description

Ben Emlyn-Jones joined me for a wide-ranging catch-up in which we dug into war rhetoric, propaganda, and the way fear is used to soften public resistance. We talked about how political and media narratives can push ordinary people towards conflict, looked back at the lead-up to the world wars, and reflected on how history is often simplified into heroes and villains when the truth is usually far messier. From there we explored censorship, establishment gatekeeping, and the uneasy feeling that public opinion is being managed far more aggressively than most people realise.

We also ventured into hidden history, religion, and the paranormal, from the Durupınar formation and the search for Noah’s Ark to the Svalbard seed vault, Bosnian pyramids, cargo cults, Doggerland, scientism, demons, and the enduring question of whether ancient stories may preserve real events. After Ben headed off, we carried on with the live chat and veered into cold-war tunnels, secret bunkers, Royston Cave, the London Underground, hospital care, and the grim state of modern institutions. In short, this was one of those classic conversations where politics, mystery, history, and the downright strange all collided.
