Does The Body Rule The Mind?

They couldn't get ethical approval, it was a spare-time project. I volunteered as the subject - it was my girlfriend's research, after all.

It took weeks. 

"Wouldn't take so long if you didn't keep changing it!" she said. "All those audio books weren't there when we started."

"You try lying completely still all day in silence."

Finally, she showed me the rack of servers. "That's it. The complete copy of your brain."

I pointed to one drive. "Bet that one's just Smiths lyrics."

She looked uncomfortable.

"What?"

"I ran simulations of what you'd say."

"And?"

"Smiths lyrics? It was spot on."

Sometimes I do genuinely worry about exactly how much of my valuable brain real estate is taken up with lyrics to the songs of The Smiths. I'm not sure those synapses are really earning their keep.
