Murder In Moscow: Where Was Kaylee Living At The Time Of The Murders?

Published 6 hours ago
Description
Kaylee Goncalves had largely moved out of the 1122 King Road house before she was murdered on November 13, 2022. According to her parents, Goncalves was preparing to graduate early from the University of Idaho and had already lined up a job with a technology company in Austin, Texas. She had left the Moscow rental and was transitioning into the next stage of her life, making her presence at the house that weekend temporary rather than part of her normal routine. Her parents later said she returned to Moscow on November 12 specifically to spend time with her longtime best friend, Madison Mogen, and to show Mogen the new Range Rover she had recently purchased.

That detail became especially significant after the murders because Goncalves was not simply returning home after an ordinary night out. She had already moved away from King Road and came back for what was supposed to be a brief visit. On the night of November 12, Goncalves and Mogen went to the Corner Club in downtown Moscow, stopped at the Grub Truck and were dropped back at 1122 King Road at approximately 1:56 a.m. Police later determined that Goncalves, Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were killed between roughly 4:00 and 4:25 a.m. The fact that Goncalves had already moved out made the timing particularly tragic: she was only back at King Road for the weekend, visiting her closest friend and showing off the vehicle she had bought as she prepared to leave Idaho and begin her career in Texas.
