Episode Details

This week, “The Grizzled Vet” Michael McCurdy sits down with Drexl, the Human Horror Show, the Homicidal Artist, and the self-proclaimed Devil himself for a look at the man behind one of the Pacific Northwest’s most unforgettable wrestling characters.

Drexl talks about growing up obsessed with wrestling, horror movies, comic books, punk rock, and heavy metal, his years working in radio, and how a cross promotion with Portland Wrestling unexpectedly led him into the business.

From brutal early training with The Grappler and learning from veterans like Buddy Rose, Moondog Moretti, Dr. Luther, and Kevin Sullivan, to the evolution of the Drexl character, death matches, acting, graphic design, booking, and helping develop the next generation of Pacific Northwest talent, this conversation goes far beyond what happens inside the ring.

It’s a story about creativity, longevity, chasing the things you love, and finding success even when the road takes you somewhere completely different than you expected.

The stories never die on Talkin’ Off The Top Rope.
