Episode Details

Sony Pictures has announced that its upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular Helldivers video game series will now star Alan Ritchson instead of Jason Momoa, who originally departed from the project earlier in the year. Directed by Justin Lin, the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 9, 2028, following a slight delay from its initial 2027 release window. Based on a franchise that has sold millions of copies since 2015, the movie will explore a satirical dystopian future where elite shock troops battle alien and mechanical threats. Ritchson’s extensive background in action projects and military-style roles suggests the feature will adopt a grittier and more serious tone for its primary protagonist.
