Ep. 114 The Enfield Poltergeist
Description
For Part 2 of our Conjuring Quadfecta, we’re heading across the pond to North London for one of the most famous—and controversial—poltergeist cases in paranormal history: the Enfield haunting.
In 1977, strange things began happening inside the Hodgson family’s home on Green Street. Furniture allegedly moved on its own, knocking sounds echoed through the house, objects were thrown, and one of the Hodgson children, Janet, appeared to become the focus of something far more disturbing.
The case eventually attracted police, journalists, paranormal investigators, and eventually Ed and Lorraine Warren.
But how much of the story we know from The Conjuring 2 is actually true?
We’re breaking down the real Enfield haunting, the Hodgson family, the infamous Janet Hodgson recordings, the investigators who documented the case, the controversy surrounding the events, and the parts of the movie that Hollywood changed—or completely made up.
Was this one of the most compelling paranormal cases ever documented?
Was it a genuine haunting?
Or was something else going on inside the Hodgson home?
Grab a beer and join us as we separate the Enfield haunting from the Hollywood version.
