Losing Mooch Will Be Harder Than Losing My Dad

Christ Almighty, things are really rough right now. Fuck Mondays. At least this one, right now.
I’m trying my hardest to handle it all. But it’s not going well. My mental health is not in a good place. I received a phone call from my father’s assisted living facility in the middle of recording this episode. I always answer the phone when they call.
Especially with his health so touch-and-go since he was diagnosed with COVID. It’s really changed his outlook, attitude, and actions for the worse.
On top of everything relating to him and the time left he has, Mooch is going through health problems. The vet thinks she has Cushing's disease. I scheduled the first of several visits for tests for Friday. I hope we get better news regarding her prognosis than we’re currently getting for my dad.
I don’t want to lose either of them. And certainly not both. I realized, though, that I’m going to handle Mooch’s passing far worse than I will my father’s. And that’s not a good feeling, but it’s me being honest.
