Episode Details

Author Colleen Hoover recently explained that the 2022 bonus chapter of her bestselling novel Verity was intentionally excluded from the upcoming movie adaptation because she preferred the original ending and felt the film lacked the necessary runtime. Starring Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett, the cinematic project follows a struggling writer hired to help an incapacitated author, echoing the plot of the 2018 book. During the press tour, the actors discussed the inherent pressures of bringing a beloved literary work to the screen while capturing its core essence rather than mirroring every detail. Cast members also shared behind-the-scenes adjustments, such as Hathaway maintaining her brown hair instead of wearing blonde wigs as originally considered. Ultimately, the film preserves the ambiguous conclusion of the source material, allowing audiences to decide the truth for themselves when it arrives in theaters.
