Insurance, People & Possibility with Sinead Campbell from Residentsline

Episode 113 Published 4 weeks ago
Description

What does an insurance broker actually do behind the scenes? And what does it take to build a career, lead a team and raise a family at the same time?

In this episode of Beyond Four Walls, I’m joined by Sinead Campbell, Branch Director at Residentsline, for a conversation that goes far beyond insurance policies and premiums.

Sinead shares her career journey and the experience that has taken her into a senior leadership role, as well as the realities of balancing her career with being a mum of two. We talk about progression, leadership, working parenthood and how our experiences outside of work can shape the way we lead and support the people around us.

We also explore the recent PIB acquisition of Residentsline and what becoming part of a larger group means in practice – from access to greater resources and expertise to the opportunities it can create for both the team and their clients.

And, of course, we talk insurance.

Sinead takes us behind the scenes of a brokerage to explain what actually happens between a client providing their information and receiving an insurance quotation. We discuss why the cheapest premium isn’t necessarily the best outcome, the importance of understanding cover, and why communication and education are such an important part of the broker-client relationship.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Sinead’s journey from insurance professional to Branch Director
  • Career progression and stepping into leadership
  • Balancing senior leadership with being a mum of two
  • How parenthood can influence the way we lead
  • Residentsline becoming part of PIB
  • What acquisition means for the team and its clients
  • Maintaining relationships and personality within a larger organisation
  • Why good insurance broking is about far more than finding a price
  • Helping clients understand their cover and make informed decisions
  • The relationship between property managers and insurance brokers
  • What actually happens behind the scenes at renewal
  • The different roles within an insurance brokerage
  • Managing complex risks
  • Common insurance misconceptions
  • The future of insurance and Sinead’s ambitions for what’s next

It’s a conversation about insurance, people and possibility – and a reminder that behind every policy, renewal and claim are people, relationships and decisions that really matter.
