Episode Details

Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson is officially attached to headline the upcoming Exorcist feature, marking her first leading role in a traditional horror movie. The fresh take on the classic property will be written and directed by Mike Flanagan, serving as a brand-new narrative set within the established universe rather than a direct continuation of previous installments. Major production companies including Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and Morgan Creek are backing the project to revitalize the marquee franchise following the underwhelming box office performance of 2023's predecessor. Studio executives targeted Johansson after her successful involvement in relaunching another massive intellectual property, Jurassic World: Rebirth, earlier in the year. Production is expected to begin filming soon, pending the finalization of the lead actress's upcoming scheduling commitments.
