Episode Details

The entertainment company Teton Ridge has officially secured the screen rights to Larry McMurtry’s acclaimed Lonesome Dove book series. Reaching an agreement with the McMurtry estate, the production banner acquired both film and television privileges for the Pulitzer Prize-winning literary property. While the specific format of the upcoming project remains undecided, it will be produced by a team including Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, and the author's grandson, Curtis McMurtry. This new undertaking arrives during a modern Western genre renaissance fueled heavily by popular projects like Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone. Previously, the iconic story about former Texas Rangers was brought to life in a celebrated 1989 television miniseries that captured numerous prestigious awards.
