The Incarnation: Why It’s More Than Just a Story

The Incarnation: Why It’s More Than Just a Story

Description
What does the incarnation of Jesus Christ actually mean? John 1:14 says, “the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” But the Greek word John chose for “dwelt” carries a much more vivid image: He pitched His tent among us. He tabernacled with us. That changes how we read the entire passage. In this Sunday Seeds episode, we trace John’s words back through the Tabernacle, Moses, the glory of God in Exodus, Bethlehem, and the early Christian battle over whether Jesus Christ truly came in the flesh. We’ll look at: • Why John calls Jesus the Logos, the Word of God • What John 1:14 actually means by “dwelt among us” • The connection between Jesus and the Tabernacle • Moses seeing the glory of God in Exodus 33–34 • Why John says, “we beheld His glory” • What 1 John 4:2–3 says about the spirit of Antichrist • Cerinthus, Docetism, and the early denial of Christ’s physical body • Why the incarnation requires Jesus to be truly God and truly man • What the incarnation means for Christians today • Why Revelation ends with God once again dwelling with humanity John’s message is not that God sent humanity another spiritual teacher. The Word became flesh. The God who once filled the Tabernacle came into the human camp Himself. He moved in. 📖 Main Scriptures: John 1:1–18, 1 John 4:2–3, Exodus 33–34, Exodus 40, Revelation 21 🙏 Have a prayer request? Leave it in the comments.
