As a Cornell Law graduate, Stu finds this incident deeply saddening.

Woke Parenting: Nikole Hannah-Jones’ decision to enroll her daughter in a struggling Brooklyn public school was intended to reflect her commitment to educational integration, but the experience exposed serious academic shortcomings that left her daughter unprepared for a more rigorous high school. We discuss whether parents should ever allow political ideals to outweigh a child’s educational needs and why failing New York City public schools must be held accountable regardless of funding, poverty, or segregation.

Demented Diplomacy: Did President Trump really offer to sell American weapons to mainland China? His own ambassador said yes, but then Trump denied this and finally indicated that it might be a good idea. And MAGA still can’t stop harping about Biden’s dementia as President. As usual, Trump’s random thoughts display how oblivious he is to reality, since there is a legal prohibition on such sales, a stalled $14 billion arms package for Taiwan, and his bizarre statements caused alarm among America’s allies. What is that man thinking, or is he even capable of reasoning in his demented and diminished state?

Smith’s Warning: Former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week showed that Donald Trump committed serious crimes to overturn an election he lost and then obstructed justice after hoarding classified documents. Yet Trump escaped a jury’s judgment by winning back the presidency, regaining control of the Justice Department, and turning the government against the prosecutors who dared investigate him. As Republican senators smeared Smith instead of confronting the evidence, the hearing revealed a sickening inversion of justice where this disgusting diaper-wearing demented president is not held accountable for his myriad crimes, while those who tried to hold him accountable became the targets.
