Description
BREAKING: Tennessee is dealing with significant injury concerns heading into the Auburn game, and there is one area Auburn absolutely has to test Saturday in Knoxville.
The Tennessee offensive line is already trying to recover from a difficult performance against Texas, and now injuries could force the Volunteers to shuffle that unit even more.
Wendell Moe Jr. was one of Tennessee’s most experienced offensive linemen entering the season. Tennessee brought back significant experience up front, including Moe, Jesse Perry, David Sanders Jr., Sam Pendleton and Shamurad Umarov. That experience was supposed to provide stability around true freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon.
Instead, Auburn might get an opportunity to attack a unit trying to find the right combination.
The key is finishing the pressure.
Brandon showed against Texas that simply getting into the backfield is not enough. He has legitimate athletic ability and can escape situations that look like guaranteed sacks. Auburn had similar issues containing Jarrett Curtis at times against Vanderbilt.
