Description
A single moment in an airport turns into a powerful reminder that your words can change a life. Jerry Curl shares a moving post-trip reflection on gratitude, leadership, and why the people who protect our freedom deserve more than a passing thanks.Fresh off Tank Truck Week 2026 with the National Tank Truck Carriers, Jerry celebrates the drivers, families, carriers, and industry professionals who keep the wheels turning and the culture strong.
He also gives a heartfelt shoutout to KAW Tank Wash and others in the industry who lead with mission, heart, and service instead of just chasing a paycheck.
Then the episode takes a deeply personal turn. Jerry recounts meeting a young Marine in a Washington, D.C. airport, realizing he had been too distracted to truly see him, and learning firsthand how a simple thank-you can create connection, dignity, and trust. That moment opens into a larger conversation about veterans, the sacrifice behind our freedom, and the real-world impact of organizations like Phoenix Charity, which provides service dogs for military vets.
You’ll hear Jerry break down:
- why professionalism in trucking is really about people first
- what Tank Truck Week revealed about community, camaraderie, and leadership
- how the Phoenix Charity service dog mission supports veterans in tangible ways
- why a small act of presence can mean everything to someone carrying a heavy burden
- how to speak life into the people you meet every day
This episode is a reminder that freedom is never free, respect is never wasted, and one sincere conversation can alter the direction of someone’s day - or yours. If you care about trucking, veterans, service, and leading with heart, this one belongs in your queue.Jerry closes with a challenge: use your words to build, encourage, and honor the people around you. Essential listening for drivers, industry leaders, veterans, and anyone who wants to live with more intention.
