Colin’s Daily SOS — October 2, 2026

Today: a global bond-market sell-off, Accenture’s AI consulting boom, Tavus’s human-like video agent, Grindr’s PurposeMed acquisition, and expanding access to private and automated trading.

In today’s episode

  • Global bonds: U.S., British, French, and Japanese yields reached multidecade highs amid inflation, fiscal, energy, and geopolitical concerns. Morning Brew and Brew Markets also discuss oil prices, mortgage rates, and shifting expectations for U.S. interest rates.
  • Accenture and AI consulting: Accenture reported strong bookings and consulting revenue, with management describing demand for AI infrastructure, integration, training, safety, and deployment. Cognizant, IBM, Infosys, and Wipro also rose.
  • Tavus Griffin: The Rundown AI reports that Tavus’s live video model can see, hear, speak, and react, with nearly half of test participants mistaking Griffin-Lite for a human. Tavus is limiting access while it develops safety and disclosure features.
  • Grindr acquires PurposeMed: Grindr agreed to acquire the parent company of HIV-prevention telehealth provider Freddie for up to $320 million including performance payments. Freddie will join Grindr Health.
  • Markets become more accessible—and more continuous: The SEC approved broader accredited-investor eligibility, while Robinhood is expanding 24/7 equity trading and AI-powered trading tools.
  • AI infrastructure: Alphabet sent Google AI chips into orbit for Project Suncatcher. Tencent reportedly signed a roughly $7 billion Oracle chip-access deal, and Meta claimed research tax credits for some AI data centers.
  • Other developments: Anthropic is reportedly targeting an IPO before Thanksgiving; Nike reported falling revenue and planned headcount reductions; and the U.S. is deploying additional military forces to the Middle East.
