Leading The Way Radio Podcast - Suffering with Jesus

Published 4 days, 12 hours ago
Description

Suffering is not meaningless, and tragedy is not proof that someone is more sinful than another.

Teaching from Luke 13, Dr. Michael Youssef corrects false assumptions about suffering and shows how God uses pain in the lives of believers to refine faith, draw His people closer to Himself, deepen compassion, and prepare them for greater fruitfulness.

At the same time, Jesus uses tragedy as a warning. Calamities remind us that judgment is real and that repentance must not be delayed.

Through the parable of the fig tree, Dr. Youssef calls listeners to:

  • Reject false beliefs about suffering,
  • Allow God to refine and strengthen their faith,
  • Repent while His mercy is extended,
  • Bear spiritual fruit,
  • Intercede boldly for the lost,
  • Live with urgency in light of coming judgment.

God is patient, but His patience must never be presumed upon. The call of Christ is clear: repent, trust Him, and bear fruit while mercy remains.

Scripture Focus: Luke 13:1-9
