What happens when the career, title, or role you thought defined you suddenly disappears?

For Dawn Stephens, that question became the beginning of a much deeper journey. After working as a teacher, entrepreneur, and corporate employee, Dawn found herself questioning her identity and purpose. That experience inspired her to write The Little Pot, the first book in her Potter series, which uses the metaphor of a potter and a vessel to explore purpose, identity, growth, and the ways we can serve others.

Since then, the Potter series has grown into four published books, with each story developing from lessons Dawn continued to learn throughout her own life. Her books are created for children, but their messages also speak to adults who are searching for purpose and identity.

Dawn also shares how becoming a published author has helped create speaking opportunities and strengthen her authority. She uses her books and signature talks to connect with audiences, while continuing to grow her work in publishing and prepare to take over the publishing company she currently works with.

Key Takeaways:

💡 A book can become a credibility asset that opens doors to speaking opportunities.

🎤 Having a clear message can help you connect with the right audiences and create demand for your work.

🤝 Your experiences and skills can become tools for serving and helping other people.

❤️ Your wounds and challenges can become part of how you help others.

🌍 Stories can create opportunities to talk about acceptance, differences, and understanding.

Dawn’s story shows that purpose can continue to evolve throughout life. Sometimes, the experiences that make us question who we are can also lead us toward the work we were meant to do. Her journey is a powerful example of how a personal message can grow into books, speaking opportunities, publishing work, and a platform that serves others.
