Episode Details

Netflix has successfully acquired the rights to develop a young adult drama series based on Katharine McGee’s bestselling book collection titled American Royals. This alternate history premise imagines a United States ruled by a monarch rather than an elected commander-in-chief, following the descendants of George Washington. The upcoming adaptation will be scripted by Ted Malawer, who previously co-authored the screen version of another royal-themed young adult story called Red, White & Royal Blue. Furthermore, Alloy Entertainment is heavily involved in producing the project through Warner Bros. Television, adding to their long list of successful teen-focused media franchises.
