This episode featured a conversation with Jake D'Altrui, a former college baseball player and current recruiter with Prospect Consulting Group. Jake discussed his own baseball journey, including playing at the University of New Orleans and his decision to go the junior college route. The discussion focused on the challenges and strategies of college baseball recruiting, particularly in the era of the transfer portal. Jake emphasized the importance of finding the right fit for a player, both academically and athletically, rather than solely chasing Division I opportunities. He advised players to focus on improving their skills and maintaining an active and professional presence on social media, specifically Twitter, to increase their visibility to coaches.
