Mucukunda, an Ikshvaku dynasty king who had long protected the gods in battle, was granted deep sleep and the boon that whoever woke him would be incinerated. Upon waking, Mucukunda beholds Krishna's divine form and questions His identity, to which Krishna reveals Himself as Vasudeva, son of Vasudeva, born to relieve the earth's burden. Krishna then invites Mucukunda to ask for a boon, and Mucukunda, recalling sage Garga's words, recognizes Krishna as Sriman Narayana Himself.[/EN_DESC]
