An API for systemd Machines (asg2026)

An API for systemd Machines (asg2026)

Published 1 day, 1 hour ago
Description
In this talk I'd like to provide a vision for accessing systemd hosts via local IPC APIs and remote RPC APIs. With the Varlinkification of systemd going full steam ahead, I'd like to explain what I think should be next for systemd and how things fit together with our focus on APIs. We'll talk about metrics/reports, Varlink in general, the Varlink HTTP proxy specifically, about security models, and zero-agent remote access, secure system parameterization and more. We'll talk about design patterns to follow, both for systemd components, and for other OS components, outside of it.
