Major telcos launch disaster roaming service
Published 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Description
Telstra, Optus and TPG have launched a Temporary Disaster Roaming service that automatically activates in regional and rural areas threatened by bushfires, cyclones and floods. The service allows customers to access another network for essential voice calls, text messages and basic data when their normal network is unavailable. The disaster roaming capability works alongside triple-0 calls and requires compatible devices.
