Description
ALERT: Auburn football has a chance to change the entire conversation around Alex Golesh's first season.
Beat Tennessee on the road.
Auburn's victory over Vanderbilt mattered. It moved the Tigers to 3 and 1 and gave fans another reason to keep believing. But one victory over Vanderbilt is not enough to prove Auburn football is headed where everybody wants it to go.
A road SEC win would be different.
If Auburn can go into Tennessee and find a way to win, regardless of what the final score looks like, suddenly there is tangible evidence that this program is making progress.
Then October becomes really interesting.
Georgia remains an enormous challenge in Athens, but LSU comes to Jordan Hare Stadium and Ole Miss has already shown vulnerability. Auburn does not need to dominate this stretch to demonstrate progress.
