Williams & Blum: Is West Virginia a Good Matchup for Iowa State?
Description
Iowa State vs. West Virginia is here, and Chris Williams and Jake Brend break down the biggest matchup of the weekend for the Cyclones.
The guys dive deep into West Virginia’s dangerous rushing attack led by Michael Hawkins and Cam Cook, and why Iowa State’s linebackers and tackling will be critical. They also discuss the Cyclones’ defensive adjustments after the Utah loss, the importance of getting healthy in the secondary, and what Iowa State needs to do to avoid another slow start.
On offense, Chris and Jake discuss Jaylen Raynor, Omari Hayes, Dominic Overby, Aiden Flora, and the need for Iowa State to find more reliable playmakers in the passing game. They also debate whether Iowa State’s quarterback situation is really changing and what the second half against Utah could mean moving forward.
Plus, the guys hit the Big 12 slate, the Jack Trice Stadium field conditions, and Jimmy Rogers’ message to Cyclone fans.
Williams & Blum presented by Mechdyne.
