September 30 | A Pattern for Prayer
Description
September 30 | A Pattern for Prayer
Isaiah 9–10 and Ephesians 3 both remind us that God is at work far beyond what we can always see in the moment. Isaiah speaks into a time of darkness, judgment, pride, and political uncertainty, yet keeps pointing back to the fact that God still rules and His purposes still move forward.
In Isaiah, the people are surrounded by instability, but God is not. Human strength, nations, leaders, and plans all have limits. The passage keeps bringing us back to the reality that God’s wisdom and authority are greater than anything happening around His people.
In Ephesians 3, Paul turns that same confidence into prayer. He prays that believers would be strengthened in the inner person, rooted and grounded in love, and able to grasp how deep Christ's love really is. Then he reminds them that God can do far more than they could ever ask or imagine.
Together, these passages give us a pattern for prayer. We can bring God what is happening around us, but we should also ask Him to do something within us. Today is an invitation to pray for inner strength, deeper faith, greater awareness of Christ’s love, and trust in the God who can do more than we can see.
