Carnal eyes or spiritual eyes? Matthew 6:22-23 (KJV): "The light of the body is the eye," and "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God."

Matt and Raven pick up from John 9:39 and the fall in Genesis 3, where "the eyes of them both were opened" and they saw with carnal eyes. Then they read Matthew 6:19-24 and pray Paul's prayer, "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened" (Ephesians 1:18). "The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes" (Psalm 19:8). In 1 Corinthians 1-2, "the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18). "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God," but "we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:14, 16).

Along the way: tree-of-life vs tree-of-knowledge issues and why believers divide over end-times charts, Moses choosing "rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season" and enduring "as seeing him who is invisible" (Hebrews 11:25, 27), David's "Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD" (Psalm 25:15), and Peter walking on the water until he saw the wind (Matthew 14:30).
