Episode Details

After eighteen years, Chris Carter’s original vision for the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want to Believe is finally arriving on streaming platforms. Retitled The X-Files: I Want to Believe — Vrach Frankenshteyn, this R-rated, fully restored cut will premiere on Hulu on August 14, 2026. The revised project embraces the frightening body horror elements and neo-noir atmosphere that the studio initially rejected from the theatrical release. Although the original film received mixed audience reactions and struggled at the box office, it developed a dedicated cult following over the years. This director's cut offers fans a thrilling opportunity to experience the scarier, uncompromised narrative that creators originally intended for Mulder and Scully.
