BREAKING: Auburn Football Must Fix Rushing Attack | TWT P4 | Auburn Football Podcast

Description

WARNING: Auburn football found a way to beat Vanderbilt, but there is one issue that simply cannot continue if this offense is going to reach its potential.

The running game has to get fixed.

Jeremiah Cobb finished the Vanderbilt game averaging 7.3 yards per carry on only eight attempts according to the numbers discussed in this episode. Byrum Brown averaged 5.7 yards per carry and continued to show how dangerous he can be once he gets into the open field.

So why is Auburn having so much trouble consistently running the football?

That is the big question.

The concern is becoming less about the players carrying the football and more about the entire structure of Auburn's rushing attack. The offensive line remains a problem, Auburn has struggled to consistently create running lanes, and the Tigers have to find ways to get Cobb and Brown more opportunities in space.

The crazy part is Auburn still found a way to win.

Auburn only ran 58 offensive plays and had the football just three times in the entire second half. Instead of using that as an excuse, the Tigers made enough plays to beat Vanderbilt.
