SpaceX Starship reaches orbit for first time
Published 1 week ago
Description
SpaceX's Starship rocket successfully reached Earth's orbit for the first time during its 14th test flight, despite losing one of its 33 engines during ascent. The spacecraft launched from Texas and completed orbital insertion before both stages splashed down in the ocean in a fiery landing, cutting short the planned 10-hour mission. SpaceX is collecting data from this test to support NASA's moon missions and Elon Musk's eventual goal of reaching Mars.
