In 2008, 24-year-old Knoxville server Carrie Daugherty was ambushed and killed outside her Tennessee home, a sudden act of violence that shattered the people who loved her. Suspicion soon turned to Micah Johnson, the ex-boyfriend of Carrie's best friend, and the search for him escalated into a dramatic standoff on Knoxville's Henley Street Bridge. In Part 1 of Murder: True Crime Stories, host Carter Roy introduces Carrie, the young woman whose life was cut short in her own driveway, the tangled web of relationships that investigators believe led to her death, and the tense manhunt that ended with a suspect in custody but a motive that raised as many questions as it answered.
