Avalanche Setting Up Roster For Opening Night. Hughes Given Opportunity With Top Power Play
Description
Colorado Avalanche shake up their power play unit as TJ Hughes lands a top-line role alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, while MacKinnon moves to the right side. Will these bold adjustments revive the Avalanche’s previously stagnant power play and spark an offensive surge?
Chris Micieli and Zach Pearson dissect Colorado’s opening night roster, ongoing injury issues for Logan O’Connor and Zach L'Heureux, and weigh the impact of relying on prospects like Hughes and Taylor Makar for vital depth. The episode tackles burning questions: Can Mackenzie Blackwood take the reins as the true No. 1 goaltender? Will the Avs’ aging core be a factor come playoff time? Plus, get insights on potential contract extensions for Jared Bednar and Artturi Lehkonen, and how lineup surprises could shape the Avalanche’s Stanley Cup hopes.
