S2 #27 The Power Of Big Questions (and Awkward Pauses); An Interview with Sarah Lewis

Season 1 Episode 137 Published 1 week ago
Description

Sarah Lewis is a Reconnection Coach for mid-life women who have ticked the boxes and created the life they "should" have, but now find themselves standing in the middle of it, thinking, "Why doesn't this feel good? Who even am I?"!

Sarah lives in Bedfordshire and is a single mum to 2 teenage children. She has spent the last 3 years reconnecting with who she is and rebuilding her life from the ground up after a break up.

In this episode we speak about:

  • where I met Sarah (and I'm so glad our paths crossed)
  • the work Sarah does as a Reconnection Coach and why
  • the power of big questions — and awkward pauses
  • self-abandonment and how deeply common it is
  • changing generational patterns in parenting
  • when career and motherhood meet/clash (no blame whatsoever on the Mums, but the systems)
  • Sarah's experiences of Motherhood and Matrescence
  • advocating for our children; where the self-abandonment piece can so often begin

Themes: matrescence, motherhood, parenting, neurodivergence, healing, personal growth

At the end I share a poem by Kahlil Gibran called 'On Children'.
