ALERT: Auburn football got the win against Vanderbilt, and while it certainly was not pretty, the Tigers bought themselves something incredibly important heading into October: another week of hope.

Auburn is 3 and 1, has finally won an SEC game at Jordan Hare Stadium for the first time in two years, and now has an opportunity to build on it. But nobody should confuse winning with having everything fixed.

There are still some serious concerns with this Auburn offense.

The Tigers have yet to establish the type of rushing attack expected from an Alex Golesh offense against Power Four competition. Auburn also continues to battle interceptions and inconsistent quarterback play. Byrum Brown completed 65.1 percent of his passes against Vanderbilt according to the numbers discussed in the episode, with an adjusted completion percentage of 69.7 after accounting for three credited drops.

But the defense gave Auburn a chance.

Vanderbilt finished just 4 of 17 on third down and averaged only 2.7 yards per rushing attempt according to the game statistics discussed in this episode. The tackling still needs to improve, but DJ Durkin's defense delivered a much better overall performance than it did against Florida.
