Episode Details

In a featured interview with Philadelphia Magazine, acclaimed cartoonist Brian “Box” Brown discusses the simultaneous release of his two latest graphic novels. The first, WTF is a Podcast with Marc Maron, utilizes a documentary-style format to explore the history and influence of the legendary comedian's long-running show. In contrast, Forevr marks a shift toward fiction, presenting a dystopian narrative centered on a subscription service that digitally preserves the deceased. Throughout the conversation, Brown reflects on his creative process, the challenges of independent publishing, and his skepticism regarding artificial intelligence in the arts. He also touches on his recurring interest in pop culture history and his long-standing work documenting the evolution of cannabis laws.
