206: 13 Warrior w/ Darran Franich
Published 4 years, 9 months ago
Description
Critic Darren Franich returns to the show to discuss the period/swordplay epic that blew his kid brain out of the water back in '99, John McTiernan's THE 13TH WARRIOR.
We discuss the poorly aged casting of Antonio Banderas as a muslim, the best and worst moments of McTiernan's career, and the science fiction cultural behemoth who took control of the film in reshoots, Michael Chrichton. We also talk about the wonders of filming on-location, how this movie must have been torn apart in the editing room, and why we think this movie should have included actual, honest to god bearmen.
