Episode 21: The Marshall House: Haunted Savannah, Georgia
Description
What happens when a night in one of Savannah, Georgia’s most historic hotels turns into a paranormal encounter you can’t explain? This week on My Friends Are Haunted, Caitlin May is joined by returning friend Shawna to dive into the dark history and ghost stories surrounding The Marshall House, one of Savannah’s oldest and most famously haunted hotels.Originally opened in 1851 by Mary Marshall, the hotel has witnessed some of the darkest chapters in Savannah’s history. During the Civil War, The Marshall House was used as a Union hospital for wounded soldiers, and it also served as a hospital during devastating yellow fever epidemics. With so much illness, suffering, and death taking place inside its walls, it’s no surprise that the hotel has developed a reputation for being a hotspot for paranormal activity. But the history gets even darker. We explore the infamous stories surrounding human remains and amputated limbs allegedly discovered beneath the hotel during renovations, as well as reports of a ghostly Civil War soldier, mysterious footsteps, children laughing and running through the halls late at night, faucets turning on by themselves, and other unexplained activity reported by guests. Some accounts even describe spirits appearing in the hallways as though they never realized they had died. Then Shawna shares a terrifying personal experience from her own stay at The Marshall House. What started as an uncomfortable night of sleep quickly became something much harder to explain. While lying in bed, Shawna suddenly felt something move her leg—despite there being no one there to explain what had touched her. Was it a restless night? A strange physical sensation? Or could something from the hotel's haunted past have made its presence known? And just when Caitlin thinks Shawna's story couldn't get any stranger, she reads a Reddit paranormal encounter that bears an unsettling resemblance to what Shawna experienced—making the question even harder to ignore:Was Shawna really alone in that room?If you're fascinated by true ghost stories, haunted hotels, paranormal encounters, Savannah ghost stories, Civil War hauntings, unexplained experiences, haunted history, and real-life encounters with the supernatural, this is an episode you won't want to miss.👻 Have you ever experienced something you couldn't explain?Submit your true paranormal encounter to MyFriendsAreHaunted@gmail.com for a chance to have your story featured on the podcast!#TrueGhostStories #HauntedHotels #TheMarshallHouse #SavannahGeorgia #ParanormalStories #GhostStories #HauntedSavannah #ParanormalActivity #HauntedHistory #GhostEncounters #ScaryStories #TrueParanormalStories #MyFriendsAreHaunted
