Following the recent passing of brother Dezzy Roots, we are re-releasing his feature on the show, originally released in 2020.
Our condolenses, deepest sympathies and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sharing his legacy is so important; we are honoured to uplift it for all the lives he empowered and those he will inspire on listening to his story.

Connecting people of the diaspora is what this podcast is all about so connecting to Marcus Garvey's bloodline and sharing his infinite legacy just shows the power of positive works.
Dezzy Roots started up and established; Venture Records Company and a record shop; Gangsterville Musical Arcade. He was instrumental in the initial support and formation of the band Aswad and around the same time The band Tradition also came to Venture Records.
Also lead vocalist of CULTURED FEW “Better No Come” which reached number one in the reggae chart, his success as a solo performer and DJ followed in the clubs and cabarets across Europe. His success has continued with GoodVibes International Record Company, J Tibbs Productions and presently a partner and Administrative Director of BASS1 Entertainment Ltd.
Amoungst his many achievements he recieved a BEFFTA award for naming the reggae genre; “Lovers Rock”, and an Excellency Award, for services to music and the music industry.
