Our Miss Brooks - "The Surprise Party" (Old Time Radio, 1948)
Published 2 weeks, 6 days ago
Description
Our Miss Brooks, “The Surprise Party,” originally broadcast October 24, 1948, is episode 12 in the supplied catalog listing. Eve Arden stars as Madison High School English teacher Connie Brooks, with Jeff Chandler as Mr. Boynton and Gale Gordon as Principal Osgood Conklin.
Connie has her eye on a green alligator-skin handbag in a department-store window, but a run of unexpected hard-luck loan requests leaves her scrambling to raise the money. This early CBS comedy episode blends the familiar Madison High and Mrs. Davis rooming-house crowd with a birthday plan Connie does not see coming.
Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
