Episode Details

CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents “Episode of Terror,” originally broadcast September 7, 1981, as episode 1240. Adapted from Honoré de Balzac’s “An Episode Under the Terror,” the drama was written by G. Frederick Lewis and directed by Himan Brown.

In Paris during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror, two Carmelite sisters shelter a priest in hiding. When an uneasy errand and the arrival of a shadowy visitor raise fears of discovery, faith, secrecy, and trust are tested in a city gripped by political violence. The cast includes Marian Seldes, Arnold Moss, Earl Hammond, and Sam Gray.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
