Short Context
In Romans 5, Paul reminds believers that faith does not promise a life without hardship. Instead, God can use tribulations—pressure, setbacks, pain, and difficult seasons—to shape something enduring within us. Trials can produce patience; patience develops proven character and spiritual experience; and that experience strengthens our hope in God.
