In December of 2012, 13 month old Poppi Worthington died after being taken into her father's bed in Barrow-in-Furness, England. Within hours, a consultant pediatrician had flagged her injuries as suspicious and contacted children's services. Within days, a senior pathologist told police she believed Poppi had been horrifically assaulted. But then, for almost a year, nothing happened. Evidence was lost, thrown away, or sold. Investigators ignored evidence. Hearing after hearing was held, yet to this day, the man thought to be responsible for Poppi's disturbing death, walks free.
