Forget Facebook, Meta is now all about Muse  

The ads are everywhere! They're all over New York's subway system, billboards, and a nationwide TV commercial. They have a cute mascot named "Jolly", which looks sort of like a polar bear crossed with a Teletubby. They want this AI assistant to be for everyone, especially those who don't know tech jargon or care to. They just want it to be helpful, feel friendly, and do things for you. It doesn't just chat. It operates in the background even when the app is closed, so it can stay on calls or do research tasks or monitor for updates and changes.  

And it's going to be everywhere Meta is. Not only can you get it via iOS, Android, and macOS, but you can also go through WhatsApp, or even using their new Muse Charm.  

It's not a "wearable", it's a "holdable". The Tamagotchi-style device is a pocket-sized keychain featuring a touch screen to summon Jolly the mascot. It's got cameras and microphones to interact with it too. It is also slated for integration into Meta's smart glasses.  

What about security?  

Meta claims Muse is highly secure because each user's agent runs on an isolated Muse Secure Virtual Machine (VM). They've promised an upcoming "Confidential VM" tier using Signal-protocol encryption so tight that not even Meta can look at the data.  

But just today, Meta had to bolster its internal safety warnings after a security researcher discovered a vulnerability that could potentially allow attackers to access sensitive personal data via the agent.  

The product is a massive commercial hit out of the gate, beating out ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok on the App Store charts. The launch successfully drove a massive rally in Meta's stock price.
