Description

Friday at the Movies with Sean returns this week on the Hog Country Radio Network, featuring Regional Media film critic Sean Kernan and his review of Prime Time, starring Robert Pattinson.

The film takes audiences behind the scenes of the controversial television series To Catch a Predator, the NBC program hosted by Chris Hansen that became both a cultural phenomenon and, eventually, a source of significant controversy.

The series centered on confronting men who had allegedly communicated online with children and arranged to meet them at homes staged for the television program. The confrontations became some of the most recognizable moments in reality television, but the program ultimately came to an end following controversy surrounding one of its investigations and the death of one of the men confronted during the operation.

According to Kernan, Prime Time offers viewers a different perspective on the story, providing new insight into the people and events surrounding To Catch a Predator and exploring what went on behind the scenes of the groundbreaking program.

Kernan praises director Alex Oppenheim for his direction and highlights Robert Pattinson's performance, saying the actor provides audiences with a side of Chris Hansen that they have not previously seen. The film explores how Chris Hansen approached his work and how he helped turn the controversial investigations into compelling television.

“It's really quite something to watch,” Kernan says, describing Prime Time as engaging, exciting, and riveting. Kernan goes even further, calling the film one of the best movies of 2026 and strongly recommending audiences see it.

Prime Time, starring Robert Pattinson, opens in theaters this weekend.
