In Philippians 2, the apostle Paul calls believers to live in unity, love, and humility. He challenges the church not to be driven by competition, selfish ambition, pride, or the desire to be recognized. Instead, Paul points to a different way of living: valuing others, caring about their needs, and choosing humility.

These verses prepare the way for the ultimate example of humility—Jesus Christ. Though He is Lord, Jesus willingly served, sacrificed, and gave Himself for others. Biblical humility is not thinking that you have no value; it is choosing not to make yourself the center of everything. It is recognizing that every person has God-given worth and deserves compassion, respect, and consideration.
