Episode Details

The Chicago White Sox push all their chips in for the AL Central, risking playoff rotation chaos in pursuit of the coveted No. 2 seed. Can this high-stakes gamble lead to Chicago winning the division title with a sweep of the Rockies and the Royals beating the Guardians at least once? Host Todd Welter analyzes the strategic decisions behind deploying Sean Burke and Davis Martin against the Rockies rather than have them available to pitch Games 1 and 2 in the wild card series if the White Sox do not the division.

Welter scrutinizes manager Will Venable's mindset as the Sox chase a division title. The episode explores pitching depth, playoff lineup possibilities, and the impact of rookie performances during a must-sweep series against the Rockies.

Spotlight shifts to Colson Montgomery as he nears the single-season strikeout record, sparking debate over his true value compared to sluggers like Kyle Schwarber and Mark Reynolds. Fan poll results reveal surprising playoff opponent preferences and ignite conversations about celebrations, franchise history, and the legacy of pitching coach Don Cooper. Will the White Sox’s aggressive approach pay off and silence their doubters?
