Description
When should you buy edible glitter for holiday baking? By the end of November if the colors matter — Thanksgiving weekend is the practical deadline.
The reason is a calendar, not a scare. Category search demand peaks around December 14 at roughly two to three times the spring baseline, and it is not window shopping: Amazon Brand Analytics recorded roughly 2.6 to 3 times the unique customers in the 2025 holiday quarter compared with a typical quarter. Worse for planners, the country bakes the same two-color Christmas — orders of the Green jar rose roughly 7.6 times into that quarter, and Red and Green became each other's most common add-on. Two-day shipping is a genuine miracle, but it can only bring what is still on the shelf. If you need one jar and any festive shade will do, early December is still fine. If you need specific colors, several jars, or anything that has to be wrapped, the gift deadline is harder than the baking deadline and the order date moves earlier.
In this episode:
- The peak week, and what it actually looks like from the shelf
- Why the December buyer is a different person from the year-round baker
- Dana's winning round: one batch, any color, no calendar needed
- The full order calendar, walked backward from the 25th
- Why a jar bought in November is the same jar on Christmas Eve
- Two people who should skip the shopping trip entirely
Who should skip it: one-batch bakers who are flexible on color, and anyone whose last year's red, green and gold are still in the cabinet.
The MONÉGASQUE 12-color gift set is on Amazon at $59.99 standard; check the listing for current pricing.

**Direct answer (top):** Order by the end of November if your baking needs specific colors, several jars, or anything wrapped — Thanksgiving weekend is the sweet spot. One jar and flexible on shade? Early December is fine. Avoid shopping in the week of December 14, the peak week of the year at roughly two to three times the spring baseline, when specific shades run thin and fast shipping cannot restock them.
