Description
Harvey Weinstein, 74, was sentenced Wednesday in Manhattan to 15 years in prison for the 2006 sexual assault of production assistant Miriam Haley, followed by five years of supervised release and sex-offender registration. Judge Curtis Farber told him he took what he wanted by force and had never accepted responsibility; Haley, in her victim impact statement, said it is a life sentence for her. Weinstein, who denies the allegations, has now been through two trials, a reversal and two hung juries on the Jessica Mann count since his 2020 conviction. In Massachusetts, lawyers for Lindsay Clancy — charged in the deaths of her children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, and never convicted or acquitted after this month's mistrial — moved to dismiss on double jeopardy grounds and asked Judge William Sullivan to examine the holdout juror's phone records. And Elizabeth Holmes has been approved for transfer to a halfway house outside Austin on Aug. 23, 2027, with a Bureau of Prisons release date of Feb. 22, 2030. Garret Fisher reports.
